The purpose of the Touro University Nevada chapter of ACOS-MSS is to represent and educate the future osteopathic surgeons. ACOS-MSS stresses understanding of osteopathic principles in relationship to disease in the practice of surgery and provides a forum for discussion among students and surgeons.

Membership Benefits
Members will be invited to join to all informative meetings held on or off campus in addition to any workshops or clinics throughout the year. Traditionally, members of ACOS-MSS have organized trips to participate in nationwide conferences to gain a variety of networking opportunities and novel skill sets. An official TUN ACOS-MSS T-shirt is also provided at a small fee to members.

The Touro University Nevada Medical Journal Club provides a setting for future clinicians to critically analyze medical literature and develop the foundational skills for evidence-based clinical practice. By systematically examining and collectively appraising pertinent medical research, members will gain an appreciation for statistical and epidemiological concepts for analysis of primary literature.

Sun Safety and Education Outreach (SSEO) is committed to improving healthcare, serving the community through educational and volunteering events. SSEO would provide the opportunity for its members to volunteer in educating local populations, including at high schools, community colleges, universities, mobile clinics, senior centers, and homeless shelters, on the importance of sun safety. According to the CDC, skin cancer is currently the most common cancer in the United States. We therefore feel that the work our club can do could make a significant difference for our local communities in Nevada. Our club's goals overlap with those of groups such as Community and Lifestyle Medicine, Dermatology Interest Group, Oncology Interest group, and Public Health and Policy Interest Group. Much of the inspiration to form SSEO draws from the efforts of these clubs. The interests of our club are niche, however, in that our club will be solely focused on "Sun Safety" as an umbrella for future volunteer and educational projects. This mission requires the energy and dedication of an entire club, hence what inspired us to form SSEO.

The Wilderness Emergency Medicine Club is committed to improving wilderness emergency medicine healthcare, working with Touro University Nevada's medical professional programs to establish and sustain interprofessional education within wilderness emergency medicine, to work with related clubs and services on campus to enhance educational crossover, serving the community through charity events and volunteering and providing members with the opportunity to interact with wilderness emergency medical professionals and related professionals in a meaningful way in the hopes of guiding their future medical careers.
