This introductory presentation helps attendees understand the nature and scope of human trafficking in our communities. Attendees will have a better understanding of the dynamics of human trafficking and the tools used to recruit and maintain power and control over victims.

Cassie Matheus

Caspian Matheus is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma and holds a Master’s in Social Work degree. For the last 8 years, she has worked in anti-violence and victim advocacy work, at different non-profits, in multiple states. She received certification as a victim service provider, worked as a legal court advocate, and coordinated a High-Risk Multidisciplinary Team, to help screen for and prevent intimate partner homicide. She recently relocated to Las Vegas last summer and currently works as the Human Trafficking Training Specialist for the RISE Program, under the umbrella of Signs of Hope.
